1. El Chafaril Natural Swimming Pool – San Martín de Trevejo

San Martín de Trevejo is one of the most charming villages in Sierra de Gata, famous for its cobbled streets, traditional architecture and its unique local language, A Fala.

Its natural swimming pool is smaller than others in the region, but it has a very special charm. Its waters, coming from the Sierra de Jálama mountains, are clean and refreshing even on the hottest summer days.

It is the perfect option for combining a peaceful swim with a stroll through one of the most beautiful villages in Extremadura.

2. El Petril Natural Swimming Pool – Valverde del Fresno

10 minutes from Finca El Cabezo

Thanks to its proximity, El Petril is one of the best options for enjoying a quick swim without having to travel far. Valverde del Fresno is a village shaped by its location on the Portuguese border and by the culture of A Fala, one of the main symbols of Sierra de Gata.

3. El Jevero Natural Swimming Pool – Acebo

Around 20 minutes from Finca El Cabezo

The river in Acebo, known as El Jevero, is one of the most famous in Sierra de Gata thanks to its size, clean waters and the lush vegetation surrounding it. It is highly recommended for families and for those looking for comfort, as it has a beach bar and restaurant where you can have lunch or dinner during the summer season.

A little further downstream, following the same river, you will find the Carrecía bathing area, which also has a restaurant and space to enjoy the day.

The Acebo area also offers several hiking routes, including the famous Cervigona Waterfall trail, one of the most spectacular natural spots in the region.

The natural swimming pool in Hoyos is another of the most popular in Sierra de Gata thanks to its accessibility, its size and the lush nature that surrounds it. It is the perfect place to spend the day enjoying the water and the mountain landscape.

It also has a restaurant area, and at certain times of the year concerts and events are organised.

5. Villasbuenas de Gata Natural Swimming Pool

The natural swimming pool of Villasbuenas de Gata is located next to the Ribera de Gata stream, in a beautiful setting surrounded by nature. It is an ideal choice for those looking for a peaceful bathing area away from large crowds.

It has a beach bar, El Gato Verde, where you can enjoy lunch and dinner during the summer season.

The village of Gata is one of the essential places to visit in Sierra de Gata thanks to its heritage, streets and history. Its Puente de la Huerta is one of the most charming spots in the region. 8. El Charco del Palo Natural Swimming Pool – El Payo (Salamanca)

This is one of our favourite places.

El Charco del Palo looks like something from a fairy tale: crystal-clear, deep waters surrounded by spectacular vegetation, with moss, ferns and a lush oak forest.

Although it is located in the province of Salamanca, it is very close to Finca El Cabezo and well worth the trip to discover a different and little-known landscape.

9. Los Molinos Natural Swimming Pool – Torre de Don Miguel

Around 35 minutes from Finca El Cabezo

The Los Molinos natural swimming pool in Torre de Don Miguel is one of those places where nature, history and gastronomy come together in the same experience.

Its name recalls the old oil mills that you can find close to the water.

After swimming, a great option is to enjoy el Chiringuito Los Molinos, the restaurant located next to the river, and extend the day with a meal or some relaxing time overlooking the mountain landscape.
